SALEM, N.H. - Johnny A., the popular jazz and blues musician, wants his guitars back.

He said three of them were stolen recently from his home in this southern New Hampshire town, and "someone knows someone who did it."

Johnny A., whose seldom uses his Greek surname Antonopoulos, estimated the value of the guitars at more than $15,000.

He described them on his website as:

-- A 1968 Gibson EB-2D bass in rare burguney sparkle metallic finish.

-- Gibson Montana slim-body jumbo acoustic with sunburst finish. Only one of 40 made.

-- Hofner reissue McCartney bass that was a Christmas gift from his family.

Johnny A., who has played with guitarists B.B. King and Jeff Beck, said he noticed the instruments missing when he returned home last weekend from a three-week tour.

Deputy police Chief Shawn Patten said the burglars likely targeted the victim's home because of his fame as a musician.

Johnny A., best known for his album "One November Night," has been nominated for Blues Artist of the Year by the Boston Music Awards.
