“Today ‘again’ he discovered he didn’t have any legs … He does remember our names, the boys, family and many other things … but missing his legs was a whole new thing today and it was not easy for him. His frontal lobe was severely damaged, but it is amazing how well he is doing considering that fact … ”

There is no real gray area. War is a dirty, ugly thing. It is sometimes necessary, but it comes with costs.

So, how are you coming on your resolutions? We’re nearly 90 days into the New Year and if you’re like most people, you’ve broken your resolutions already. Losing weight has always been my go-to resolution and year-after-year when Dec. 31 rolled around I would find myself a few pounds heavier than on the previous Jan. 1.

Shoes: “Black Vinyl Shoes”

Grade: A

Shoes was one of the first bands to have its music videos appear on MTV in the early ’80s.

“Tomorrow Night,” you remember that one? How about “Too Late”? Both songs are from its major label debut “Present Tense,” but it’s not surprising if you’ve never heard them because even if it could be argued that Shoes indeed achieved mainstream popularity, it was certainly short-lived. The band released three albums between 1979 and 1982 on Elektra, and then retreated home to Illinois, sporadically releasing music on its own label.
